Mike Todd Launches Campaign for Robbinsville Mayor
Election slate Includes Deborah Blakely and Hal English for Robbinsville Township Council

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ - Robbinsville Township Council President Mike Todd has announced his candidacy for mayor in the November 4 election to lead a slate that includes highly accomplished Council members Deborah Blakely and Hal English.

After serving Robbinsville for 25 years, current Mayor Dave Fried announced March 31 that he will not seek re-election in November.
“Those are obviously enormous shoes to fill,” Mr. Todd said of the upcoming mayoral vacancy. “Dave Fried has ushered our town toward great prosperity in the face of countless challenges over the years. I learned a great deal from him both as a resident and on Council, wisdom I plan to apply during my campaign for mayor.”

Mr. Todd, Mrs. Blakely and Mr. English have a long and distinguished history of serving the Robbinsville in numerous capacities and throughout their tenure. They have focused on prioritizing public safety, promoting economic development with balanced growth, expanding inclusive recreation facilities and maintaining a stable municipal tax rate. The Todd-Blakely-English ticket has reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that Robbinsville is the best place to live, work and play in all of New Jersey.

“We have a great foundation to build upon and our team is excited to focus on a four-year vision of how to take our community to the next level” Council President Todd said. “We need to continue to be creative, bold, and decisive to maintain the efficiency of the Township while attracting new sources of revenue and ratables through responsible economic development.”

Council Vice President Blakely is honored to have served the Robbinsville community for the past five years and deploys a level of care and concern that shines through in everything she puts her heart into. With a background steeped in speech pathology, Mrs. Blakely understands the importance of educating and communicating with all our residents. Mrs. Blakely has worked hard to ensure our residents have access to valuable programs through our Senior Center, library and has partnered with our CARE initiative to bring Embright Education (formerly known as Campfire) to our schools.
“I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish these past five years,” Mrs. Blakely said. “Mike will make a truly exceptional mayor, and I look forward to continuing to work with Hal, Amit (Chopra) and Chris (Ciaccio) on Council to continue bringing out the very best in the Robbinsville community.”
Councilman English, who was elected unopposed in 2024, is grateful for the opportunity to serve Robbinsville residents with this team of candidates.
“Each of us remains committed to listening to resident concerns, being accessible, and working every day to make our community an even better place to live, work and raise a family," Mr. English said. “I am thrilled to bring my experience in economic development and banking to the Council, as well as my years of serving on the boards of many nonprofit community organizations throughout Mercer County."
The Todd-Blakely-English slate can tout significant achievements in public safety and strides in redevelopment along Route 130 throughout their leadership.
“We have worked extremely hard to make sure our first responders have the personnel and equipment they need to keep our community safe,” said Mr. Todd. “New technology has been prioritized and secured for our Police Department, which is now fully accredited. We are so very proud of the work they and all our first responders do.”
Bolstering the Township’s EMS services by working with the Administration and Fire Department to bring that service in-house instead of contracting out to a third party at no extra cost to residents was a huge accomplishment for the entire Robbinsville team.
On the redevelopment front, Mr. English said: “our Council is working hard to attract new businesses along the Route 130 corridor, and we are starting to see the fruits of that labor with new ratables on the way for our municipality and school district. We are doing this by continuing our balanced approach to development, which is important to preserving the Robbinsville identity that is so near and dear to all of us.”
Robbinsville Administration and Council has identified the importance of expanding the Township’s recreational opportunities, especially for those with disabilities.
Following years of meticulous planning of how to best utilize the Miry Run Recreation Area, we now have a Community Garden and multi-use trails under construction for all residents to enjoy. New lighting was installed around our pickleball courts to expand their availability, while Community Park will be home to our second inclusive playground in the fall of 2025.
“We are very proud that Robbinsville Township has, and will always, work hard to include our residents and neighbors with disabilities in our recreation programs, on our playgrounds, working in our businesses, and in our communities,” said Mrs. Blakely, one of the driving forces behind the addition of the second inclusive playground.
The campaign slate of Todd, Blakely and English brings an unmatched wealth of knowledge, experience and proven leadership for Robbinsville.
“We are all very motivated to bring out the best in Robbinsville and are committed to making our community one of the most desirable places to live and work in the State,” President Todd said. “We will continue to work as a team and bolster our already strong partnerships with the school district and surrounding municipalities.”
Mr. English cited the millions of dollars in new economic development under the ticket’s collective leadership, bringing in desirable businesses that contribute to the health of the local economy and the community.
“Continuing to work with our Administration and local business community will be a top priority for us as we look to generate additional revenue, create good-paying jobs, and enhance support for our youth athletic programs and charitable organizations.”
Vice President Blakely reinforced the team’s priority of listening to and understanding resident ideas and concerns while ensuring they are connected to available services both within the Township and Mercer County.
“We deeply care about our neighbors, friends and families in Robbinsville, and we will continue to support them in any way we can.”
